The best of East Europe

A tour of 17 days,  by train (first segment) then buses from April 12th to April 27th.

Berlin, Warsaw, > Krakow, > Praque, and > Budapest

The total distance traveled was 1200 miles
with an extension trip of five days to the Hungary National Army Hospital (from April 27th to May 1)

The following is the actual GPS trace of our trip:

All five cities suffered from the rule of Nazi Germany followed by the Russian occupation. Hitler and Stalin left a trail of brutality. While the degrees of their suffering were quite different, this trip inpressed us a great deal. We enjoyed some beautiful sites, but we certainly felt, in particular, the emotion of the Polish people's hatred of the Russians.
