Prague

The bus ride from Krakow to Prague was again about six hours. Again we stopped at a town in the middle - it was called Olomouc. It is a very charming town. We saw several weddings and even a couple celebrating their fiftieth anniversary there. The lunch break was nice and fun!

The damage in Prague was relatively small, compared to Warsaw, during the Second World War. I suppose that their cooperation with the Germans gave them some friendship rewards. However, the Jewish people suffered a great deal there. The charm of the city is noticably preserved everywhere. We went to see the Old Town, the Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, and Wallenstein Palace ad Gardens. Our hotel was at the northwest corner of the city, a subway ride was needed to reach the popular parts of the city. We learned to do that without too much difficulty.
