Petrozavodsk

Some lectures were given to all who were interested in Russian history, both ancient and modern. Of course they were rather brief, but they certainly gave us some background information to appreciate the lives of the Russian people. Lenin is no longer popular in Russia generally now, but in Petrozavodsk, the Soviet Union is not yet in the past tense. Russia is a very large place. It is impossible for everyone, everywhere to think the same way. This city is the sister city of Duluth, MN. There were examples everywhere of their exchange foot-prints. We were lucky to be able to see and visit the Sunday markets.
