Goritsy
This is another very small town on the Volga River, he home of about 600 people. Janice went to another Monastery called Kirillo-Belozersky in the next town, while I went to a local church, the Convent of Resurrection. There are certainly many religious places in Russia. Clearly the communists wanted to get rid of everything, to start with brand new sheet! However, most places are now being rebuilt or refurbished.

On the way, we passed the the flooded Krokhino Church. We first saw the remains in the distance, then the church came into view. Every country has destroyed some history in order to progress:
