Luxor
We flew to Luxor via Egypt Air and boarded the river boat MS River Anuket, which was rated the second best river boat (out of more than 300) on the Nile. It has 70 rooms. Our group occupied a total of 69 rooms. There is a crew of 65 people. It is clean and quite functional, with a total of four decks. The top deck has a swimming pool, while the rest of it is open and partially shaded. The bottom deck has our dinning room, stores, crew rooms and kitchen. The second and third decks are for guest rooms. They are all the same size. The middle parts of these decks are used for the lounge, a library, and card rooms.
We stayed on board for a total of seven nights but it sailed only three times. It was a very smooth and uneventful ride. The Nile is a very clean and calm river.
Luxor is a much cleaner city than Cairo, and there are street lights at the intersections (not in Cairo). I walked for more than an hour along the street parallel to the Nile and liked this city a lot more than Cairo.
The first night we went to visit the temple at Luxor.
