Valley of the Kings

Many Pharaohs were buried on the west bank of the Nile in Luxor. The tombs are just amazingly constructed along the hillsides. I do not have a lot of inside pictures to show here as it was not allowed to take pictures there. Humans are crazy trying to be remembered by doing things before they die, as if they will receive comfort in death if they do more while alive.  The west bank is not as fertile as the east bank. People are poorer there. Kings and queens certainly used these slaves to achieve what they thought pleased their gods. We also visited the temple dedicated to Queen Hatshepsut, who was the only female Pharaoh and ruled for 20 years. However, later rulers destroyed any mention of her as they believed that a woman could not be Pharaoh.
