Premia de Dalt

The villa Ed rented for the month of May is in Premia de Dalt, which is about 20 miles from the center of Bacelona. Ed, Christina, and Karen drove from there to pick us up from our hotel in Barcelona and we arrived at the Villa in about forty minutes time. (It was Sunday morning or the trip would have been much longer!) By the way, we discovered that Dalt means "Up". There is also a town called Premia de Mar.)

 The villa

Our hotel was nearby in the same small town.

Cal Music - our hotel which we thought was only .6 km from the villa! It turned out t be .6 km as the crow flies! In reality it was a LONG way from the villa over many twisty roads!

This hotel has only 4 rooms. It is very nice with a yard and a loquat tree:

As soon as we got there, we were invited by Ed's friends, Katie and Wenli to have lunch with them. We had a great seafood meal at the local restaurant:

I took some pictures at the villa to show you the activities there:

There was a lot of singing!

While there we went to visit three small cities nearby during the next three days: Cades d'Estrac, Rupit, and Girona. It was raining the entire first day and the museum we hoped to visit was closed anyway, since it was Monday. We just had some mid-morning coffee with pastries, lunch around 1 pm, and enjoyed some small town fun.

The next day we drove to Rupit, a very, very small town with an old town center. We had two cars that went there! We hiked a couple of miles and had lunch at a local resturant. It was great fun!

   the whole group (minus me)!

Can you believe that Janice was on the hanging bridge!

  a garden in the city!

   The town center!

The third day, we drove to Girona, which was having a week-long flower show. Because of the show there were a lot of people for this small town. Flowers, flowers every where! We certainly enjoyed the displays.  After a full day, Ed, Karen, and Christina drove us to the airport so that we could fly home early the next day!
