Specials

There were really quite a number of special things about every stop on this trip. It is difficult to say which picture is more special then another. This category is really my subjective assignment. It only serves a simple purpose - to show you the pictures which are the ones I consider should be included.

   Kai at the Alhambra Gardens

where there is a walk made of pebbles

This bridge connects Spain with Portugal

Yes, I was practicing bull fighting!

You do not believe me? This is from another angle!

A piece of cork bark - Portugal produces 50% of the cork material in the world.

Janice was touching a pile of cork oak bark.

Part of this tree was de-barked in 2008 and the top was later de-barked in 2013. New bark is coming back around the bottom which was done in 2008. Trees are ready for de-barking every 9 years and last 200 years!

This was one of the show horses we saw. It was jumping!

This dog liked me a lot - it lived at the horse farm!

Another dog was interested in the birds in the window!

Olive trees along the road. Spain produces 45% of the world's olive oil!

  An old olive tree!

Oh, orange trees are everywhere too!

Man of La Mancha red wine, it was pretty good!

Every town has a bull fighting ring! This is the one at Ronda!

This was a great surprise! It is a huge chasm in the middle of Ronda!
