Kelheim-Regensburg

I was not at all familiar with this small town Kelheim. We took a bus from there to The Weltenburg Monastery, founded by Abbot Eustasius(650 AD). This is the oldest monastery in Bavaria. It is unbelievable place! The amount of wealth and human effort displayed in this small church is just outrageous. From there we took another boat ride down the Danube gorge, then we visited Liberation Hall. From there we traveled to Regensburg to rejoin the boat.

First a short walk to the Abbey!

    Two American GI's drowned here
