Aswan Dams and Philae Temple

The Old Dam was built in 1902 and the Temple at Philae was partially under water. The new Aswan Dam which created Lake Nasser would cover Philae completely. So it was moved in 1960, piece by piece to another island, Agilika Island. This is a Roman Greek temple. We took a boat ride to the island and back.

We then went to a fragrance/oils shop where our friend had a massage:

Later we went to have a Felucca ride, but the selling of tourist stuff by the crew spoiled the flavor a bit.

At night, a local performer showed us a whirling dervish dance!
